9/9/10 Meeting

Tonight Terathorn and Wandalor had Thane Gabriel Spade over to craft swords and work on the website.
Terathorn and Thane cut out and glued Terathorn's sword. Finally after many months Terathorn has just now decided on his sword design. And I must say it looks really good, a little long for my liking but I'm not the one who will have to wield it in battle.
While the men were doing this I, Wandalor, was hard at work trying to get the website ready to launch. It is coming along quite nicely, I got some ideas from Thane and Terathorn on how some things should look. So tonight I am fixing those to make the website flow better. Now if only we could take some pictures to put up on the site, or on here for that matter. Oh well until next time.

Update

Well it seems that life has got in the way of our assembling, so sorry. But we are back to business and are all re-focused on our goals.

September 6th was our first official meeting in a long time, we practiced fighting for a few hours then crafted some arrows. Part of our delay has been due to waiting for supplies, if you don't know Valentine is a thriving metropolis so we have to order most of our supplies. Our arrows work fantastic! They are soft enough to not cause pain, but tough enough to be felt and to fly. Right now (pre latex) they look like marsh mellows on a stick but I am assured that they will look awesome (post latex).

September 8th Wandalor continued to work on the website, assembledwarriors.com. It is coming along and it should be launched within the month. Tomorrow we will be having another meeting to organize the website and take pictures.

Assembled Warriors.com!!

A plan has been put in motion to create a web site, assembledwarriors.com is in the works as we speak! Be on the look out for it in the near future!

This week's gathering 7/11/10

Tonight the four members of the high council gathered at the Simmons Ranch to forge weapons. (pictures to come) Thane Gabriel Spade and Kristoph Sharpspare both crafted swords out of foam and which are now waiting to be glued, latexed and painted. Terathorn assisted in the forging but has not created one for himself yet. Wandalor continued to work on dresses for herself and other warriors. Afterwords Terathorn, Thane, and Kristoph had a mock battle with a potential warrior. From the feedback received it did not go as well as hoped.
No new regulations, no new members and no new information to report at this time.
Next meeting is scheduled for tomorrow night (7-12-10) at 7:00pm.

Meeting 7/2/2010

Members of the High Council gathered tonight to discuss upcoming events, new members, and guidelines for the Assembled Warriors. In attendance Terathorn Lightberer, Wandalor Lightberer, Thane Gabriel Spade and Jamaran Doombringer.

First order of business was to decide how the High Council would conduct meetings, it was decided that for it to be an official High Council meeting all 6 leaders of the different guilds had to be present, or if one of the 6 leaders could not attend they could send their second in command in their place. If one of the High Council members (or second in commands) are not present it is not an official meeting and therefore no new orders of business can be decided or made final.

Next we discussed a waiver to be erected, for injuries, damages ect. Wandalor will be in charge of creating one and this such waiver will be reviewed at the next meeting. Once agreed upon the official waiver form will be posted.

Finally we discussed rules for battle and for Assembled Warriors in general. These such rules are as followed:
  • No creating your own job title, race, guild or weapons*. (You must have your weapons approved before you can do battle with them) Every new person will start out as a mercenary with a basic sword. A nation can hire you temporarily to gain an advantage in battle. If they are impressed with you they could ask you to join their nation. This can lead to down the road being accepted into one of the guilds to gain special skills.
We still encourage creativity with names, background and history. With this rule we are trying to keep things as close to the original vision as possible. If in doubt consult Terathorn or Wandalor.
  • Intentional striking will not be permitted and could lead to removal from battle and/or removal from group. Appropriate striking will be demonstrated before each battle. More to come on this guideline, and subject to change.

Archers generally prefer to engage enemies at range, but are not unprepared for close range attacks preferring to wield light weight Elf made bladed weapons. Archers also have an understanding of the use of natural remedies for wounds and often carry such healing plants. They are particularly bothersome to archers and brutes because of their use of a shield. Foot soldiers have no magical or healing abilities. Armor only slows these warriors down and they prefer to use their reflexes to avoid attacks rather than relying on armor to stop a blow. Rangers have no magical or healing abilities. They are known to be decisive and trustworthy making them excellent advisors. Rangers have the skills and intelligence to make great leaders, but they rarely seek to be in positions of power. Warrior Monk's tend to mind their own business and generally have very little use for gaining power. They just want to help those that they protect. Warrior Monk's are not known for their combat abilities, but they are none the less skilled in combat. They tend to favor small weapons such as short swords and daggers, although a proper Warrior Monk would use a less deadly weapon such as a bow staff. They have spells that can repel attacks, spells to heal and strengthen, and spells to attack and do damage. There are three types of wizards. Wand using wizards use a wand to focus their power to use spells. A staff bearing uses a staff in the same manner as a wand for a wand using wizard. Battle Mechanics

The Battle system is based on Strikes. There are three strike zones, the head, the limbs and the torso. The head is completely off limits to any strikes. If you strike an opponent in the head the ancient protectors kill you and you are eliminated. If the opponent moves their head in the way on purpose they are eliminated. The limbs are considered a wounding strike zone. If a leg or arm is hit you cannot use that limb. If you lose both legs you are stuck in that one place. If you lose both arms your pretty much useless so try and avoid this. A glancing blow that barely grazes the clothing is not considered a strike. The torso is the killing zone. Any legitimate strike to the torso and your opponent is eliminated.
Ranged weapons and magic follow the same rules that apply to striking weapons. Arrows that strike a limb will render that limb useless. An arrow that strikes the opponent in the torso will eliminate the opponent. A shield can repel arrow attacks. Magic will be signified by a projectile that is painted a certain color and the spell will be verbalized for easy identification if you get hit by the spell. The spell must strike the torso to be effective. Limbs or weapons in the way of the torso count as a torso hit if it would have hit the torso if it had not been impeded by the limb or weapon. Shields may deflect a spell, but if the spell is one that destroys shielding you must drop your shield. Rare Hero weapons will also be able to destroy shield and armor.
Armor will have an effect equaling the level of the armor from slashing attacks. Level 1 armor will allow one strike to the area without causing lose of the limb or being killed by a torso strike. Level 2 armor will allow two strikes to the area without causing lose of limb or being killed by a torso strike. Level 3 armor will allow three strikes to the area without causing lose of limb or being killed by a torso strike. A stabbing blow cannot be protected by armor and will cause you to be killed. Only Elven armor will offer protection from spells, but can be counter acted by a shield breaking spell. Special Hero arm will guard against stabbing, magic, and slashing and will be based on the level system. Do not count on getting this armor as it is extremely rare.

There are varies types of combat situations that will be explained in later posts.

Greetings and Welcome

Assembled Warriors is a community of people built around the idea of forming a name for themselves by great deeds in battle. This is for the true warrior at heart that needs the thrill of battle and triumph to fill a part of themselves. This is not for people that actually want to hurt someone else. The battles are real, but the weapons are safe and will not cause serious injury if used correctly. This is not larping. We are not live action role playing. We are really battling for pride, land, honor, glory, and for each other. Our characters are a part of ourselves and are thus not ‘make believe’. The forces and actions that work in this world are not based on calculations of armor resistance or how much damage a weapon does. It is based on the skill with which you wield your weapon of choice. If you are looking for a community based in reality Assembled Warriors is for you.
